Jerry Bustamante is the Community Relations Manager for Hudbay Minerals Arizona Business Unit, which includes the Rosemont Project . Jerry will be representing Hudbay with a variety of corporate and civic organizations and serve as the community liaison with grassroots groups and individuals.

Jerry is a long time Arizonan who loves this state and is committed to improving its business climate.  Originally from the state of Sonora, Jerry came to Arizona as a young child and is proud to say that he is a product of our public education system.  Most of all, he is a proud Alumni of the University of Arizona.

Jerry has dedicated his career to working directly with business owners and operators in a variety of capacities and has a deep appreciation for the unique courage that entrepreneurs have.  Jerry spent many years as a Chamber of Commerce Executive and previously served as the President/CEO of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  Early in his chamber of commerce career he quickly realized that the proactive engagement in the political process was critical to create and maintain a favorable business environment in a community.  Jerry has lobbied for pro-business issues, legislation and candidates for many years, at all levels of government and truly enjoys it.

Jerry also spent some time in the financial services industry, first with a large multinational company and most recently with a local community bank.  This passion however is in the association management business. Before joining Hudbay, Jerry served as the Director of the Southern Arizona division for the Arizona Small Business Association.  He enjoys the grassroots efforts of working with businesses, connecting them with resources, tools and other businesses to help them succeed and prosper.  Jerry also believes in the importance of giving back to the community and has done so by serving on many boards, commissions and foundations.
