MORE ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS:

Anne Thrush:

Anne served 26 years and nine months in the U.S. Army as a Private through Chief Warrant Officer 4. She filled many leadership roles as a Warrant Officer, including the first Unmanned Aircraft Warrant Officer assigned to the Department of Army Aviation on the G3 Staff at the Pentagon. The numerous leadership training courses she took enabled her to learn about leadership and develop her leadership style, which has allowed her to be a compassionate, creative, and flexible leader while also being able to correct, mentor, and solve disputes when necessary.

After retirement, Anne became the Business Development Manager and Project Manager for a Woman Owned Small Business specializing in Government contracting Opportunities. During her time in that position, she became associated with several of the Board of Directors of Lori's Place and was asked to interview for the position of Executive Director. She was hired and hasn't looked back since.

Loraine “Lori” Rutherford:

Lori and her husband Mike moved to Sierra Vista in 1976 for their work and to raise their two children here. Lori was employed at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center for over 35 years as a Registered Nurse & Certified Nurse Coder/Auditor. As a nurse in the ER, Lori decided to take the S.A.N.E. certification course and became the first Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and Certified Forensic Nurse in Cochise County. Working with victims of violent crimes, Lori identified the need for a better way to care for these victims outside of the busy E.R. and the hospital. She and Mike bought the current home of Lori’s Place in 2015, and after much sweat and tears, the doors opened to serve the community in 2016.

Lori and Mike, their two children, and their Granddaughter Ryley continue to live in Sierra Vista and are very active in the community.
